About me

If diets feel overwhelming, confusing, or impossible to keep up with, I help make them more manageable by translating them into realistic ways of eating that work with your brain, your energy, and your real life.

My Personal Journey

My professional understanding changed completely when my Autistic daughter became seriously ill in her teens. Eventually she was diagnosed with M.E., PoTS, Hypermobility and MCAS. Spending much of her teen years housebound and often bedbound in a darkened room, sometimes unable to lift her arms to drink or eat, and yet still we faced years of disbelief and fear. It was a huge fight for the whole family just to get care and understanding.

Surviving those early years taught me more than any university course. We were not believed – my decades of experience meant nothing , I was ‘just’ mum. My daughter lost years of her life to illness and I lost my identity. I saw first hand how chronic illness, neurodivergence, and healthcare bias can collide, and how compassion and understanding can make all the difference.

“I know what it feels like to be disbelieved. That’s why, when you work with me, you will be believed , and truly listened to.”

When you work with me, you’ll find more than nutritional advice. You’ll find;

  • Evidence based care
  • Individualised nutrition advice
  • A safe, judgement free space to explore your health at your own pace
  • Practical, realistic steps based on capacity, physical symptoms, sensory needs and executive function
  • Collaborative care – you are the expert in your condition and capacity
  • Cats and crochet

“Many of my patients leave saying I’m ‘not what they expected from a dietitian‘. That phrase stayed with me, so it became my name.”

Professional Experience

I’m a UK-registered dietitian with an honours degree in nutrition and over 30 years’ NHS experience. My work has always centred on those who struggle most with food and access to healthcare. My roles have included working in communities, food trauma and binge eating, specialist eating disorders, and as a specialist diabetes dietitian with young people and complex cases.

I am currently on the clinical dietetic panel at the Mast Cell Action Charity, supporting them with webinars and clinical information.

In 2026 I will be working with Ehlers Danlos Support UK in their Nourished programme. Providing educational support, webinars and 1:1 patient sessions.
